History

Since the founding of our company in 1978, FAME has been dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of postsecondary institutions participating in Federal financial aid programs. During that time, we have processed over $2.5 billion in Federal student aid funds while servicing the needs of postsecondary institutions both nationally and internationally. As we grew to the largest service company in the financial aid industry, we never lost sight of our commitment to quality service and customer support, which have been the cornerstones of FAME’s success through the years.

FAME is committed to strict compliance with Federal, state and accrediting agency regulations. In today’s atmosphere of increased Federal examination, FAME’s large professional staff provides clients with a consistent awareness of the rules and regulations to reduce the school’s exposure to financial liability.

Leadership - FAME's Senior Management Team

William and Laura Little

As co-founders and board members, they are passionate about providing affordable and world class products and services to the postsecondary educational market. Bill and Laura are involved in defining the strategic direction of FAME. Bill holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College in Montreal, Canada, and Laura earned a M.S. in accounting from New York University and a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Smith College.

Cid Yousefi, Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Mr. Yousefi is responsible for all aspects of the company, including strategy, operations, finance, product development and marketing. Prior to joining FAME, he held various executive positions at Equitrac, including Vice President of Product Development and Vice President of Operations and Technical Services. Cid brings over 20 years of experience in technology and Operations with an extensive background in new product development and business development. Cid received his BS in Computer Science from Florida International University.

Nancy McCallum, Sr. V.P., Operations

As Sr. VP of Operations, Mrs. McCallum is responsible for the oversight of FAME’s Financial Aid Processing and Customer Service Departments. She instills in her staff the philosophy that FAME clients come first and has dedicated herself to ensuring that all client requests are responded to professionally and timely. Nancy has over 22 years of experience in Federal student aid and has held the positions of Financial Aid Supervisor, Division Manager, Manager of Quality Control & Computer Services, Assistant VP of Operations and is currently a member of FAME’s Senior Management Team.

Sally Samuels, Sr. V.P., Regulatory Affairs

Mrs. Samuels has processed, reviewed and taught financial aid for over 23 years. Her experience includes over 100 program reviews and certification visits. She has conducted hundreds of site visits at schools to determine their compliance with Federal regulations. Due to her expertise she is often called upon for specialized training and speaking engagements. Sally is responsible for all client and internal financial aid training at FAME and for ensuring that FAME’s procedures are in compliance with the U.S. Department of Education’s regulations. In addition, Sally is part of FAME’s Consulting Department and is often called upon to do on site evaluations for schools. She currently serves as a member of FAME’s Senior Management Team.

Julia Brown, Sr. V.P., Marketing & Client Relations

Ms. Brown represents 18 years of postsecondary educational experience and over 20 years of proven sales, marketing and general management experience. She held the position of Executive Director of a prominent proprietary school prior to joining FAME in 1991. Julia is responsible for developing and delivering on the company's strategy for expanding sales of services and software solutions through strategic relationships and marketing campaigns. In addition, Julia acts as a facilitator for client requests and as a contact for FAME clients to ensure that they receive the highest level of service. Julia also serves as a member of FAME’s Senior Management Team.
